Jennie Russianoff recently finished her degree in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Directing and a minor in Irish Studies at DePaul University. She just moved back home to the best borough in New York City: Brooklyn.
In the past she has worked as a director leading workshops and readings as part of the new play festival at The Theatre School at DePaul University called Wrights of Spring, focused on play development, directing readings of new plays including Desert Stories For Lost Girls by Lily Rushing, which premiered at The Theatre School in April, directed by Ann Filmer. She was lucky to be the dramaturg for the production. She has also worked as an assistant director on Eurydice directed by Michael Burke and An Experiment With An Air Pump directed by Ian Frank. Passionate about new work she continued exploring her process as a developer and world builder last fall by directing a production of Naomi Wallace’s The War Boys.
When she is not working in the theatre she can be found cooking, attending Aqua Zumba classes with her mom or running around Brooklyn teaching young demigods how to sword-fight, creating an immersive playground and empowering them to be their own heroes!
She is currently searching for the perfect cup of coffee and is accompanied on her search by her pup Mina.
